THE SSO’S REIMAGINED 2020-21 SEASON

We’re excited to announce our reimagined 2020-21 Willis-Knighton Masterworks Series, which will kick off with a virtual Holiday Celebration in December with bass-baritone Timothy Jones and soprano Sarah Jane McMahon. In January, we’ll begin a seven-concert series with in-person audiences at our previous home, First Baptist Church in Shreveport. Featured artists include internationally-renowned pianist Simone Dinnerstein, soprano Twyla Robinson, violinist Francisco Fullana, Broadway star Craig Schulman and pianist Alon Goldstein.  Masterworks to be performed by SSO musicians include a reduced version of Mahler’s Symphony No. 4, Vivaldi’s Four Seasons (Recomposed), J.S. Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 5, Copland’s Appalachian Spring, and Beethoven’s “Emperor” Piano Concerto. Another highlight includes an exploration of the music of Scott Joplin and the Age of Ragtime.  |  season overview
